St. Joe Class of '62

Hello Classmates!
Here's our own Blog! Hey, everyone else has one! Why not us, also! I thought this might be a good way to catch up with each other before our 45th Reunion. That one night just doesn't get it done, as you know!

Since I only have few classmate Email addresses (which I'm sending this first post to), I'll ask you to add the other addresses you have, so we can include everyone who wants to contribute.

As you may know, Berni F., Harold Z. and I have been working on our 45th. We will use this blog to provide updates, etc on our progress. We encourage you to also use this to start some Class '62 dialog! Write as much or as little, as your time permits; whenever you get the urge! Post those old photos! New ones too! Let's have some fun together before the "BIG NIGHT".

I have to stop for now, but post something, OK!

Best personal regards,

Bill Dickman ( or WCD)

PS: Remember, you only have 65 more days to lose that weight, get a tan, grow some hair, start that exciting career or whatever!

PSS: Don't wory about speling and grammer two!

Thanks Paula!

I have a first cousin (Fred Dickman)who lives in Buckeye,AZ. How far is that from you and Doyle?

When are you arriving in Fremont?

PS: To Classmates- As some of you know, Paula and I are very fortunate to have married two wonderful Class of '62, Clyde Highschool graduates, Doyle Fausey and Irene Held. We will be attending their 45th reunion on June 29 at the Holiday Inn.

Paula, how long have you and Doyle been married?

Paula said...

Hi Bill,
Buckeye is 178 miles north of us, just west of Phoenix. Drive time is about 3 hours away.
We are arriving in Port Clinton, OH on Sunday, June 24th for the Clyde Reunion and then again on July 28th for the St. Joe Reunion. We'll be staying in PC for two weeks each visit.
Doyle and I will be celebrating our 38th Anniversary this coming August. :-)

I just talked to Tom Kashmer. He and Jim Fisher are leaving Thursday for the 14th trip with The Green Creek Wildlife Society which Tom started. This Society introduces young and older(yes) people to Nature right here in he good ol' US of A!

I have asked Tom to share his story. He, like so many of you, have done so many things that you are, and should be, proud of! Most of us don't even know about these things! We certainally don't find out about these things on nights like Aug.4,2007.

Give us a peak under and into your tent...OK!

Tom may not post until he and Jim return. Have fun guys!

Thanks Jerry for BLOGGING!

I understand that you and Tom L. visited Dick Maier recently. How is he doing?

Some of you may not know that Dick is in a rest home (Former Ft. Stephenson Hotel I beleive).

Some of us guys(Tom L., Jerry, Tom K. Jim F.) plan on getting a 6-pk. and visit Dick Sat. afternoon.

We are still looking for a place to hold a "Warm Up" party Fri. night, trusting some of you want to. Volunteers?

WCD said...

Double OPPS!
Bernie & Carolyn Babione had previously confirmed that they will be among us on Aug. 4.

Also,I had a great talk with Marilyn and Jim Norman today. They are both comming as well! Great!

WCD said...

Thanks Jerry! That's great news about Dick M.; also about Tom & Natalie's hospitality!

Hey you just did send it as soon as you "signed in" then hit the "Publish Your Comment" button.

Easy, huh! maybe we can get other Classmates to participate! Presently we have two "strings" started, "Class of "62" and "Hello Bill.....etc. They can post to either one, or start their own string about another topic of their choosing.

Thanks!
WCD

Hello Classmates!

Well Irene and I had a wonderful time at her reunion in Fremont! Unofficialy,60+ attended, which was above the 50% level.

Unofficially, we have 30 Classmates attending, and a total with spouces, of 42! Not Bad! Bernie have you received any other confirmations?

I do know that Margie and Sherrill are also contacting Classmates who haven't committed.

Tom and Natalie have extended an invitation to us, for a Friday night (Aug. 3) Social! Many thanks to them!! It's BYOB; bring your hor d'oeuvres if you wish. Party starts a 7pm.

FYI, St. Joes is having it's 3rd Annual Golf Scramble and Party at Sycamore Hills at 11am, on Aug 3rd (Fri.)too. I plan on playing and am looking for 3 other Classmates to make a foursome! Come on girls, you can probably out play us guys! Besides, you will be the best looking players on the course! Call me at 404-992-2610! Cost is $50 which covers lunch, prises, drinks, etc. We would finish before Tom and Natalie;s party.

Several of you have called me regarding the Program. Here it is.

4:30pm- Mass at St. Joe's
6:00pm- Reception at the Fremont Moose Hall
7:00pm- Dinner
9:00pm- Program

Part of the Program will be devoted to an "Open Mike" where you can share thoughts about our Class, your Family, etc. Steve K.
will say a few words about our departed Classmates. Bill B. will share memories about our Senior Year, etc. This will be totally informal; no comming to the podium; etc. Hey, just tell us where you have been for the last 45 years!

I'm working on a having a "Special Guest", too.

Ideas anyone?

Best personal regards,
Bill

PS: We only have 17 days till we show our age .....and love to each other!

WCD said...

Ok! Who was that Masked Man?

WCD said...

I'm wrong again! No surprise there!
The St. Joe Golf Scramble is at the Frmont Country Club, not Scyamore Hills as I stated earlier.

WCD said...

Opps, it's "Fremont" dummy!

WCD said...

I'm sure you all have found your 1962 Josemont by now, RIGHT!

Try reading all the hand written notes, particularly those over our Senior Class pictures! GOOD LUCK! But fun though!

Whew! What a PARTY!

Time was a blur, as we knew it would be. It was sooo great to see all of you!

Marcia said that we "picked up just where we left off from the last reunion". She was so right! It seems that we have so much in common; it feels like "Family".

I'm most grateful that so many of you volunteered for our 50th Reunion Committee! I noted those Classmates as:

Bill Baker
Paula Fausey
Kathy Faist
Sister Elizabeth Maria Garcia
Margie Gonya
Tom Kashmer
Steve Kupka
Mary Beth Lanoie

If this is not correct, or if you want to be on the Committee, let me know.

Essentially your tasks are 1)Banquette site procurement and meal selection, 2) Reservation production and mailing, 3)Program production and printing, 4)Reservation receivables and bill payment. Bernie, Zee, any other thoughts?

Food for thought as overheard from reunion discussions:

Have our banquette on a boat.
Have our banquette on or near a Holiday (IE. July 4th).

Bernie, after you pay for everything would you tell us what we have in our account.

I sure hope to see all of you before 2012!! Stay with us in Marietta, GA if your travels bring you close; seriously!

It's been a week and I am still thinking about everyone. I think it was the best reunion we've had!! I agree how wonderful everyone looks AND acts--everyone is still so much fun! Bill, I was on the list to also help with the 50th. Again, thanks to you, Bernie and Zee. Great party! Marcia

Amen to Marcia's recent message.
Thanks Bill, Bernie, Zee, Margie, Tom and Natalie and all the classmates who helped put the reunion together. It's a real delight to renew old acquaintances.
Tom and Natalie's pre-reunion get together made it even more enjoyable. A two evening event spreads the fun out a little longer.
Bill looks like your blog is gaining a little life. It's a good forum. Will it run on it's own from now on or do you have to do anything to maintain it?
Thanks for the open end invite to Atlanta. You never know.... some one might take up your offer.
Talk to you all soon,
bye and fond regards to all our classmates,
Jerry

WCD said...

Marcia, indeed you did volunteer per your reservation response! Sorry I missed again!

Jerry, our Blog is on auto-pilot, so I don't have to do anything; just read everyone's comments, which I hope continue.

Jim Lauer is living proof that Classmates are most welcome to stay with us! Jim, I think you left some socks down here on your last visit!

Paula said...

News to me. Did I miss something on the 50th Reunion Committee? I thought several people volunteered. How was the new committee formed? Thanks for the info.
Paula

WCD said...

The committee was formed from the list of volunteers who indicated on their returned reservation form, that they wanted to work on our 2012 Reunion. Bernie read those names during the program. You can still volunteer, too!

WCD said...

Opps!

Marcia was on the Committee Volunteer List, Paula, was not. Sorry!

I must be getting old or something!

WCD said...
